Suggested Itinerary
day 1
Mombasa to Tsavo East
- Morning: Early morning departure from Nairobi and drive to Tsavo East National Park (around 5-6 hours). Upon arrival, you’ll enter through the Buchuma Gate.
- Mid-Morning: Enjoy a game drive as you head to your lodge/camp for check-in.
- Afternoon: After lunch and some relaxation, embark on an afternoon game drive. Look for Tsavo’s famous red elephants, giraffes, lions, and the vast open plains that stretch to the horizon.
- Evening: Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
day 2
Tsavo East to Tsavo West
- Morning: After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you exit Tsavo East and head towards Tsavo West National Park.
- Late Morning: Explore Tsavo West, known for its rugged landscape, volcanic formations, and scenic beauty. A key attraction is Mzima Springs, where you can spot hippos and crocodiles in the crystal-clear waters.
- Afternoon: After lunch, enjoy a game drive, visiting Shetani Lava Flow, a unique volcanic feature, and search for the famous lions of Tsavo, as well as leopards, buffaloes, and more.
- Evening: Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge/camp.
day 3
Tsavo West to Amboseli
- Morning: After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive, visiting the Rhino Sanctuary or Chyulu Hills on your way out of Tsavo West.
- Mid-Morning: Proceed towards Amboseli National Park (around 2-3 hours’ drive). This park is known for its magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants.
- Afternoon: After lunch and check-in at your lodge/camp, set out for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli offers superb opportunities to photograph elephants, zebras, and other wildlife with Mt. Kilimanjaro as a backdrop.
- Evening: Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
day 4
Amboseli to Nairobi
- Morning: Early morning game drive to enjoy the stunning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro at sunrise, as well as an opportunity to see predators like lions and cheetahs on the hunt.
- Mid-Morning: After breakfast, embark on your final game drive as you exit Amboseli and head back to Mombasa or Drop off to Nairobi.
